Chiapas here we come!

Well the time is rapidly approaching when we will be returning to our beloved Maiatla in Chiapas Mexico on the Guatemalan boarder. In mid November I’ll be flying back to prepare our boat for continuing on heading south. On this year’s itinerary we will be revisiting Guatemala on our way to El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua then into Costa Rica to hopefully hook up with an old buddy at his little resort, La Perla Negro on the Nicoya peninsula. We may even stick our bow into Panamanian waters for just a bit to dive a submerged pinnacle to swim with schooling hammerhead sharks.

Should be another exciting year for Maiatla and her crew. Over the past couple of years we had breeching whales right next to the boat, visited remote and Jurassic looking islands off the coast of Mexico where Blue Footed Boobies and Frigate birds nest. Not to mention we spent a couple of days clinging to the dorsal fins of whale sharks off of La Paz in the Sea of Cortes, spearing lobsters and chasing crocs in the mangrove swamps. I could go on as we have had quite a ride since departing Ladysmith harbour on Vancouver island in the fall of 2012, seeking the legendary eternal summer. This year, I’m sure will be just as adventurous.

We would like to invite all of our family and friends and vicarious cruisers alike to follow along by visiting our blog. https://thenakedcanadian.wordpress.com/author/thenakedcanadian/
